How will you contribute to our magical experience?

The Director of Publicity (PR), Latin America is responsible for defining and leading the regional publicity strategy for The Walt Disney Company’s Direct-to-Consumer & Studios portfolio, including Streaming, Kids & Family, live entertainment and original productions across Latin America. This role owns the regional publicity vision and long-term roadmap, ensuring alignment with global strategies while maximizing regional and local relevance, cultural impact and business results. The Director acts as a senior regional leader and key partner to Global (Burbank) teams, driving consistent, high-quality and scalable publicity execution while developing high-performing regional teams.

The Director of Publicity (PR) will be responsible for:

  • Defining and leading the regional publicity strategy for DTC and Studios properties across Latin America, aligned with global objectives and regional business priorities.
  • Providing strategic governance and senior oversight of publicity campaign implementation across all Latin American markets.
  • Leading regional publicity strategy for Streaming launches and sustained title promotion post-launch.
  • Ensuring creative integrity, brand consistency and Disney-level quality standards across all regional publicity assets and executions.
  • Anticipating and managing, along with the Corporate Comms team, crisis or contingencies linked to contents, talents or initiatives at a LatAm level that can jeopardize Disney´s reputation.
  • Championing local content, ensuring that publicity strategies celebrate regional storytelling, positioning Disney as committed to showcase regional content.
  • Owning and managing regional Publicity budgets, driving efficient allocation of resources and ROI-focused decision making.
  • Driving collaboration and best-practice sharing among local publicity teams to enable regional alignment and innovation.
  • Acting as a senior strategic partner to Marketing and Digital teams to preserve and amplify campaign concepts regionally.
  • Serving as the primary regional counterpart for Global (Burbank) publicity and Corporate Communications teams.
  • Identifying, prioritizing and managing regional press / organic influencers opportunities originating in Latin America.
  • Developing high-impact regional press opportunities leveraging original productions, franchises and key IPs.
  • Defining regional measurement and KPI frameworks to track, analyze and optimize publicity effectiveness.
  • Leading relationships with pan-regional media outlets, key influencers and senior industry stakeholders.
  • Overseeing local media relations strategy with a strong digital-first focus.
  • Leading talent development for the regional publicity organization, including selection, development, performance, engagement and succession planning.

What we need from you to be part of this story:

  • 12+ years of experience in Publicity, Communications, Corporate Communications, Entertainment Marketing or related fields, including previous significant regional or multi-market leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong preference for experience within Entertainment, Media, Streaming Platforms, Studios, Consumer Brands or Digital Content businesses.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish; Portuguese strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success leading high-performing regional teams within complex, fast-paced and matrixed organizations.
  • Deep expertise in regional publicity strategy, earned media, media relations, stakeholder management, integrated campaign development and measurement frameworks.
  • Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate global priorities into impactful regional publicity strategies.
  • Excellent leadership and people management capabilities, including coaching, talent development and organizational planning.
  • Proven ability to influence and collaborate across cross-functional, multicultural and matrixed environments.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation and negotiation skills with senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of the Latin American media landscape, entertainment culture and digital/social media ecosystems.
  • Experience managing high-profile talent, press events, premieres and large-scale regional campaigns.
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience defining KPIs, interpreting campaign performance metrics and driving optimization strategies.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of creativity, innovation and editorial judgment.
  • Strong budget management and resource allocation capabilities.
  • Demonstrated executive presence and relationship-building skills with media, agencies, talent representatives and business partners.
  • Availability to travel across Latin America and internationally as required.
