About the Apprenticeship

As a Market Research Apprentice, you will help us understand our consumers and what they love, turning insights into stories the business can use to make decisions. By submitting your application for this opportunity, you will be considered for a position in one of the following teams:

1) Media Networks

2) Brand & Franchise Management

By undertaking a role within either area, you will be joining a team grounded in our Disney values, acting with Integrity, welcoming everyone through Inclusion, embracing boundless Creativity, working together through Collaboration and caring deeply for our Community. You will support your team to deliver primary research projects (qualitative and quantitative), and present back your findings to a variety of teams, approaching your work in a way that reflects these values.

We strongly encourage you to read the below descriptions of each role carefully, reflect on what team would suit you best, and be prepared to explain your reasoning in your cover letter. A role preference isn’t a final decision; it simply helps us understand what interests you.

Media Networks

If you love TV, streaming, and keeping up with audience trends, the Media Networks Team could be your best fit. Join the team that builds an understanding of Disney’s TV channel audiences, such as Disney Channel, National Geographic, STAR, ESPN, across the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

In this team, you will be responsible for:

  • Looking at what audiences are watching on TV, video and streaming by understanding audience data and viewership patterns.

  • Assisting with survey set-up, collating feedback, and building reports to share actionable insights.

  • Keeping up to date with the competitive environment and market landscape, particularly in areas that impact the kids, general entertainment, factual (documentaries), and sport viewing environment.

  • Creating presentations which will be used to share research insights to the relevant teams such as programming and marketing.

Brand & Franchise Management

If you love Disney’s brands and franchises and are curious to dive deeper into how fans and families connect with them, a role in the Brand & Franchise Management Research Team would be an excellent opportunity for you.

You will support the Research Manager in the development, delivery, and analysis of research projects. Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering insights on brand health and character engagement across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) for our key brands; Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic and Pixar

  • Using historical and trended data to identify growth opportunities across the business including Marketing, Studios, Consumer Products, Disney+ and General Entertainment

  • Collaborating with our Marketing teams to understand campaign performance and help improve future activity

  • Keeping up to date with market trends and competitor activity, especially in areas influencing families, general entertainment, and the retail landscape
