Sourcing Specialist(PH/IA)

About the Role & Team
Our team sources both goods and services; along with coordinating their delivery for the Disney Cruise Line (DCL) Ships and the private Islands. The Sourcing Specialist is responsible for coordinating the requirements from our DCL Hotel and/ or our Marine Technical Operations (MTO) Client and fulfilling those requirements from the market in the required timeline, and by the most efficient means through effective quoting/ bidding, contracting and negotiation. This position will work closely with stakeholder groups across the US, UK and Asia teams as a strategic partner who listens to learn business needs; provides expertise in planning and implementing sourcing initiatives within Company compliance and guidelines, while meeting project timelines and deliverables to ensure business goals and objectives are met. The sourcing specialist will drive strategic sourcing efforts across various spend categories within the Technical Supply Chain. This includes but is not limited to ship systems, safety, hotel, furnishings, navigation, environmental, repair & maintenance to deliver value, drive savings, increase efficiencies and mitigate risks.
The Sourcing Specialist works with Marine and Technical and/ or Hotel Space partner departments to coordinate the most expedited and cost-efficient shipping modes and ensures that all shipping documentation is in accordance with Trade and Compliance guidelines. This position is responsible for ensuring integration of the sourcing policy across the categories and managing strategic sourcing initiatives utilizing sourcing process that includes but is not limited to a rigorous market analysis, supplier risk analysis, and baseline spend analysis, to generate options and document a strategic sourcing plan that includes RFP execution, contract conformation, negotiations with suppliers, contract execution and monitoring of source recommendations. What You Will Do
- Focus on client management, goods buying and procurement, category management, and technical solution finding in support of Disney Cruise Line New Build and Operations.
- Accountable for business unit sourcing initiatives that consider supply chain processes and infrastructure improvements to drive reductions in Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) without compromising policy, business strategy and performance.
- Participate in cross- functional teams responsible for developing and implementing strategic sourcing arrangements with key suppliers.
- Source and negotiate supply relationships on behalf of our DCL’s internal clients. Negotiates cost, lead time, terms, scope of work, payment milestones, warranty, etc. for goods and services as applicable.
- Provides quote management, project sourcing, and order execution for multiple Disney Vessels or Islands.
- Coordinates and confirms requirements for goods or services with on-board partners and/ or shoreside management. Support requirements for compliance with regulatory agencies (i.e. SOLAS, MARPOL, USCG, Lloyds Registry, etc.)
- Leverage global supply base to ensure acquisition of requirements at the best landed cost
- Resolve issues, i.e. extended or missed timelines, order errors, and returns timely with ownership in seeing through to completion.
- Provides timely and professional communication to partners.
- Identifies supplier performance metrics, process Improvement and value opportunities.
- Use strong analytical skills to solve complex problems utilizing a data driven approach.
- Applies category management best practices, tools and techniques in the development and implementation of an integrated sourcing strategy and assesses the overall opportunity of the spend categories for projects to engage the stakeholders with critical business information.
- Manages Contracts and Key Supplier Relationships. Will manage key supplier relationships for the assigned category. Understand global, regional, and local contracts and manage key contracts.
- Execute on business efforts to protect the brand through best Risk Management practices and all efforts to achieve Corporate Citizenship goals in Environmentally and Supplier Diversity.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 1-3 years’ dedicated time in supporting a Strategic Sourcing and/or Procurement department for Marine Industry or heavy-related Project/ Construction management for a multifaceted industry like: Park Entertainment and/ or Real Estate Development.
- Negotiation experience of pricing and commercial terms and conditions.
- Conforming of Contracts for simple to moderately complex technical and non-technical engagements.
- Understanding and execution of a formal RFP (Request for Pricing/ proposal) process for Services or Goods.
- Experienced in Microsoft Office Suite (esp. Exchange, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Listens and asks questions to ensure understanding, learning mentality.
- Team player with an optimistic attitude towards both people and the work.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailors messages appropriately to the audience, peer, leader, stakeholder, vendor, executive leadership
- Keeps commitments and understands how to prioritize work with urgency.
- Interacts well with people who have different cultures, backgrounds and work styles (Invites diverse points of view).
- Discipline/Major: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Finance, Marine/Industrial Engineering, Naval Architecture, Construction Management, or similar discipline is required. MBA preferred; CPSM or CPM preferred.
- Operational familiarity with AMOS, Coupa, and SAP Sourcing and Procurement modules/ systems.

- APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
- ISM Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)
- NCMA Certified Professional Contract Manager (CPCM)
