The Team
Disney+ is one of the leading premium video streaming services in the world. It is the dedicated home for streaming movies and shows from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, and more. Our Disney+ North Asia team is responsible for the launch and day to day operation of the service across Japan, China, Korea, Hong Kong, and Taiwan specifically focused on customer acquisition and retention, marketing, partnerships, content programming, research, and analytics.
The Growth Marketing team in Japan is tasked with driving Disney+ subscriber growth, engagement, and retention for the market, in close partnership with the Disney Streaming Services global teams. They are positioned at the heart of decision making for The Walt Disney Company, driving the best audience/subscriber experience and commercial outcome for the Direct-to-Consumer business. The team also works in close alignment with other local teams and lines of business including Studios, Franchise, Live Entertainment, Parks and Consumer Products to align Disney+ acquisition and lifecycle marketing plans with cross company priorities.
Job Summary
- The Assistant Manager, Partner Marketing will report to the Manager, Partner Marketing and will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day management of partner marketing initiatives for the Japan market. You will be supporting the execution of initiatives across various partner marketing channels and across device partner platforms (e.g., Amazon, Apple, Google, LG, PlayStation, Sony) in Japan to drive growth of the Disney+ business in Japan.
- To succeed in this role, you should have a strong foundation in digital media marketing, proven project management experience, and analytical problem-solving skills. We are looking for a collaborative team player with excellent communication skills who can build and manage relationships with external partners while effectively collaborating with global and local teams.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Partner Marketing Manager in managing and nurturing relationships with local partners in Japan and collaboration opportunities
- Assist in the project management of local Partner Marketing initiatives working with internal and external stakeholders in ensuring timely delivery and launch
- Contribute to achieving business growth goals
- Support day-to-day partner requests in alignment with overall promotional strategies
- Assist in developing and executing media and acquisition plans with partners
- Track campaign performance and provide insights for optimization
Collaboration:
- Work closely with internal marketing team and external partners to integrate growth marketing initiatives with broader marketing plans
- Support the team in partnering with regional and global teams on sharing of best practices and plans
Reporting:
- Manage local and regional reporting, as required

Desired Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in marketing, with proven expertise in brand or acquisition marketing within digital media
- Skilled at building strong relationships with external partners and internal stakeholders; approachable and easy to collaborate with
- A fundamental understanding of digital marketing best practices, from customer segmentation and strategic planning to campaign execution, measurement, and optimization
- Proven ability to balance brand stewardship and performance objectives to deliver both long-term strategic value and measurable results
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment, working at pace, with multiple stakeholders (local and international), managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Native level fluency in Japanese and business level English
- Passion for content, entertainment, and streaming
