Security Plain Clothes Operative (PCO), Walt Disney World
Job Summary:
Protecting the Magic is the primary goal of the Security team. Security Plain Clothes Operatives work across multiple locations throughout our Guest and Cast areas, helping maintain an environment where Guests and Cast Members can safely experience the magic of Disney.
This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent interpersonal and partnership skills, and the ability to remain calm while assessing, analyzing, and prioritizing situations. Plain Clothes Operatives are responsible for monitoring guest areas while identifying potential risks and opportunities, and communicating findings to Security Management and Investigations, all while maintaining strict confidentiality. Plain Clothes Operatives are expected to demonstrate strong situational awareness, sound judgment, and the ability to collaborate effectively while maintaining a focus on overall safety and the Guest experience. The role also requires the ability to work outdoors for extended periods in various weather conditions.
The pay rate for this role in Florida is $25.00 per hour.

Responsibilities:
- This is a non‑costumed role, with potential assignments in costumed Security positions based on business needs
- Perform covert and semi-covert operational job responsibilities by conducting behavior assessment, reporting suspicious activities, and support on-property search and special event operations
- Utilize surveillance systems to monitor designated areas of responsibility for suspicious behavior and activities
- Compose and complete detailed professional reports by the end of the shift and maintain accurate files
- Quickly capture essential information, assess and evaluate situations, and effectively escalate issues to the appropriate parties
- Develop and maintain positive relationships at all levels and all lines of business
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism by safeguarding sensitive information while consistently demonstrating integrity and respect in all interactions
- Work collaboratively in a team environment while maintaining clear, concise communication at all times to ensure safety and security
- Complete all required training accurately and in a timely manner
Basic Qualifications:
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience in positions of growing responsibility within security, military police, law enforcement, investigations, and/or loss prevention
- Must have the ability to write and speak English fluently
- Must have a valid Florida Driver's License
- Must have the ability and be eligible to obtain a Class D Security License
- Must complete Walt Disney World Security Training (2 weeks)
- Ability to adapt to constantly evolving priorities in a high pressure and fast paced environment, while working with limited direct leadership
- Proficient with standard office software programs, phones, and mobile electronic devices; including radios, iPhones, and surveillance systems
- Must be flexible with work schedule, including working extra hours, weekends, special events, and holidays
- Additional Personal Protective Equipment (face shields, goggles, refillable hand sanitizers, etc.) may be required, as well as handling cleaning chemicals and supplies.
Preferred Qualifications:
Here are the outstanding preferred skills we are looking for:
- Associate’s degree or higher in Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, Emergency Management, or another related security field
- Experience with surveillance, patrol, investigations, Corporate, Government, Military Intelligence, and/or asset protection related field
- Knowledge of Behavioral Assessment
- Demonstrated high level of dependability/reliability/integrity/character
- Knowledge of Walt Disney World property, resources, policies, and procedures
- Experience in theme park environments, customer service, or other hospitality lines of business
- Ability to communicate fluently in one or more additional languages

SCHEDULE AVAILABILTY
Our Theme Parks and Resort Hotels operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and some shifts may start as early as 5:00am while some may end as late as 3:00am, 4:00am or 5:00am. Please note that the principles of seniority are used to schedule all roles.
