Job Summary:

The Disney Entertainment Digital Marketing Center of Excellence Audience Strategy & Community Team is responsible for developing fan-first editorial, social engagement, and creator strategies across flagship brand platforms representing Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, Walt Disney Studios, Walt Disney Animation Studios, Disney+, 20th Century Studios, and Searchlight Pictures.

This team manages community engagement, UGC and creator sourcing, campaign execution, and digital cultural relevance through deep audience connection and integration into wider digital storytelling workflows.

The Sr. Manager, Digital Marketing (Audience Strategy & Community) will lead the development and execution of holistic audience engagement strategies for the Disney Entertainment Digital Marketing Center of Excellence (DCOE). This role oversees community engagement, creator content interaction, and user-generated content (UGC) across brand and franchise handles for Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, Walt Disney Studios, Walt Disney Animation Studios, 20th Century Studios, and Searchlight Pictures.

Job Responsibilities:

 The ideal candidate is a strategic, online community centric leader with deep experience in digital content, social media strategy, and audience development. They are a strong team player that can adapt to processes, meet deadlines and will guide a team responsible for daily fan connection while steering high-impact engagement programs that support brand identity, campaign integration, and cultural relevance across one of the most iconic portfolios in entertainment. This role will shepherd multiple projects at a time within a fast-paced environment while ensuring that the brand voices and copywriting are accurately represented across platforms, working in close collaboration with brand and title marketing teams.

Program Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead the DCOE Audience Strategy & Community program, setting the strategic vision and overseeing execution for community engagement across all brand and studio platforms.

  • Define engagement strategy across the full suite of franchise and studio brands, ensuring a unified yet nuanced approach tailored to each audience and platform.

  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams to integrate audience engagement tactics into broader brand, franchise, and marketing campaigns.

  • Lead integration of opportunity reviews, approvals and posting of all audience engagement with brand and title teams.

  • Oversee the strategy, planning, and execution of brand priority aligned creator content (primarily content we contract creators to make that live on O&O platforms)  and UGC programs across all brands and studios.

  • Lead the identification and amplification of organic fan content that supports brand storytelling and franchise priorities for engagement opportunities.

  • Ensure creative consistency, compliance, and quality across all externally sourced content, managing internal routing and approvals.

Content & Platform Leadership

  • Develop and socialize best practices and operational guidelines for priority platforms.

  • Guide the curation and programming of fan-first content across owned social platforms.

  • Guide the curation of outbound engagement opportunities across all brands, with an eye for scaling.

  • Provide strategic oversight for engagement-driven platform initiatives (e.g., Broadcast Channels, opportunistic stunts, surprise and delights), ensuring sustained growth and value.

  • Monitor content performance and fan behavior to inform content strategy and optimize engagement across all brands.

  • Collaborate closely with digital analytics partners and senior leadership to deliver regular reporting on community engagement, and platform insights across all brands.

  • Synthesize data to uncover actionable audience trends and fan behavior, ensuring insights are translated into strategic recommendations that inform content planning, platform development, and overall engagement strategy. These insights will play a critical role in shaping how we build and nurture community, deepen fan connection, and inspire brand love across Disney’s portfolio.

Brand & Title Integration

  • Develop and lead community activations tied to key brand and studio events, premieres, campaigns, cultural moments, and CSR efforts.

  • Drive surprise & delight, exclusive content drops, and experiential moments that connect fans to the franchises they love.

  • Serve as the engagement lead across studio and brand activations to ensure integration with audience-first strategies.

Process Management and Improvement

  • Leads and manages systems and operations for Audience Strategy & Community, including Airtable, Google Drive, Box, strategy documents/decks, and process refinements with input from Brand & Title counterparts.

  • Leads the management and updating of all team planning briefs, strategies, planning guides, presentations, and guidelines/process documents.

  • Leads the distribution of team documents to relevant stakeholders as directed by team leadership.

  • Manages overarching team workback calendars in Airtable, ensuring deadlines are met for internal and external partners.

  • Manages repository of cross functional team meeting agendas domestically and internationally, including action items and delivery dates.

Partners & Team Management

  • Liaise daily with DCOE teams for support of priorities across pertinent channels.

  • Lead education on efforts as well as opportunities to amplify community engagement offerings to broader TWDC synergy partners.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of community and engagement professionals with a strong focus on innovation and excellence.

  • Act as the central point of contact for internal brand, franchise, and marketing teams as well as external partners and agencies.
    Drive alignment, transparency, and executional excellence across multiple stakeholders and lines of business.

  • Drive informed and empowered decision making through the broader team by proactively surfacing learnings that lead to more nuanced and innovative fan-first digital storytelling.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in digital marketing, audience engagement, or social media strategy—preferably in entertainment, media, or consumer brands.

  • 3+ years of experience managing teams and the professional development of professionals

  • Deep knowledge of fan culture, digital platform behaviors, and evolving social trends across multiple generations and demographics.

  • Strong editorial instincts and experience shaping the voice and engagement strategy of beloved global brands.
    Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional campaigns and managing creator/UGC content pipelines at scale.

  • Excellent writing and communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to ensure successful stakeholder interactions, strong working relations and the ability to interface with varied levels of management, senior peers and partners across varying teams

  • Highly collaborative sensibility with the ability to be open minded to feedback and always seeking out the best idea, not just their own idea

  • Knowledge of and ability to synthesize data and insights into actionable strategies and tactics

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, juggling multiple projects and within a highly matrixed organization

  • BA or BS in Journalism, Film, Marketing, and/or relevant field, or 5+ years of experience in addition to the above 7+ years

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with CRM tools – AirTable, Smartsheets, and/or Zendesk preferred

  • Experience in Sprinklr, Creator Studio, Keynote, Google Slides,

  • Experience within brand entertainment marketing and/or streaming services a plus

  • Previous experience working with large, matrixed organizations a plus


The hiring range for this position in California is $124,900.00 to $167,500.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
