Job Summary:

The Global Security Control Center (GSCC) is responsible for supporting emergency and non-emergency events, researching global affairs, incoming call mitigation, event dispatching, and event-driven global notification services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In an emergency, the GSCC directs and coordinates Disney enterprise assistance and support by providing technical and advisory assistance for the performance of essential operational services, the issuance of warnings of risks and hazards, dissemination of employee information, as well as serving as the central communication intake point for Global Security. About the Role…

The Manager for GSCC Program and Platform Performance will manage a team of one Program Manager,  and two Geospatial Specialists, while overseeing the successful performance of the GSCC’s technology platforms. The core enterprise-level programs under this Manager’s purview include: Travel Safety, Social Media Research, and Contracts. The Manager will also be responsible for evaluating the performance of GSCC technology integration and working with partners to solution impacts to GSCC systems and process. This includes having prior and current working knowledge of key industry vendors and technology platforms in the corporate Global Security space. The Manager will internally collaborate with peer teams and management in the GSCC: Specialists and Dispatch to ensure seamless integration and coordination on cross cutting issues. At the broader GSCC management level, the Manager will play a key role in the development and production of the GSCC’s innovative lines of products and services for the enterprise programs under his/her purview. This role is for a strong people leader who is passionate and ambitious about coaching, mentoring, advocating for their direct reports, and taking a hands-on working-level approach on projects when needed. You will be an expert in executing on strategic direction, task and metrics oriented, and brings a proven foundation of program management skills that can be translated across multiple cross-cutting initiatives while sharing that experience with the team.

You will need to have these skills to be successful in this role…

  • Leadership: 5 years or more of professional and progressive experience in leading people and programs, including expertise in adaptive communication styles, mentoring and advocating for others, continuous learning, and flexibility in navigating highly-matrixed corporate cultures. 
  • People Management: Experience managing and evaluating direct reports at different experience levels to ensure the successful execution of their responsibilities and professional development throughout the performance rating period.
  • Technical Acumen: Working knowledge and experience in leveraging current technology platforms, geospatial data and analysis, their integration into public or private sector GSOC operational frameworks, and developing innovative solutions to improve user experience. An eye for process automation, visualizing complex asset types and storytelling, and working with technical experts to enhance and drive the GSCC’s data ingestion. 
  • Program Management: Training, skills, and experience in the successful design, execution, management and long-term sustainment of enterprise-wide programs with a global reach and multiple stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to execute on strategic guidance to evolve GSCC enterprise programs by integrating multiple disciplines and establishing clear delivery timelines.
  • Social Media Research: Experience in developing and managing a Social Media Research program, which includes working-level knowledge and experience with: conducting open source intelligence (OSINT) research, building queries to automate the collection of key words and phrases, producing tailored products, and collaborating with vendors to ensure the GSCC leverages best in class capabilities and industry trends.
  • Travel Risk Management: Experience in developing and overseeing a corporate Global Travel Safety program which leverages ISO 31030, the highest of industry standards and practices, and partnerships across multiple stakeholder business units and vendors. Demonstrated ability to evaluate and train out new products and processes to end users. 
  • A Drive for Metrics: Experience in building Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and collecting metrics to evaluate internal processes and vendor performance for review by Global Security and GSCC leadership. Identify qualitative and quantitative KPIs to measure and visualize performance against key GSCC mission objectives.
  • Partner Engagement: Experience in identifying and proactively developing internal and external partnerships with colleagues to share expertise and understand the latest best in class industry standards relevant to the GSCC’s purview.
  • Executive Presence and Presentation: Ability to build stakeholder rapport and garner buy-in, inspire trust, and effectively communicate a compelling vision, up and down leadership levels, that others can and will follow.
  • Communication: Experience in writing for, briefing, and interacting with all levels of a highly matrixed organization to effectively communicate findings, strategies, and initiatives. Skilled at producing and reviewing concisely written products for non-subject matter expert and often executive level audiences. Formal training in OSINT and high-level writing preferred. Provide written and verbal briefings for various audiences to include senior leadership.

The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $107,300 to $147,500 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
