This role sits within the Walt Disney Travel Company International (WDTCI), part of Disney Destinations International (DDI). We connect guests to the wonder of Disney Parks & Resorts, helping them create magical experiences that last a lifetime.

The Technology Project Lead will be based in Hammersmith, London. The position reports to the Technical Account Manager and will manage one direct report.

Overall Purpose of the Role

Alongside the Technical Account Manager, the Technology Project Lead will drive the evolution of Disney Parks’ reservation and booking platforms, enhancing systems through API integration and innovative technology delivery.

This individual will act as the lead for transformative technology projects, managing relationships with global stakeholders, defining project scopes, maintaining delivery timelines, and ensuring seamless technical execution across systems.

Areas of Responsibility

  • Partner with the Technical Account Manager and key stakeholders to define technical specifications, working closely with internal teams and external technology partners from discovery through to delivery.

  • Lead the delivery of complex, cross-functional technology projects, ensuring all deliverables are completed on time and within budget.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with core technology partners to support key business initiatives and continuous improvement.

  • Create and manage detailed project plans, identifying risks, developing resolutions, and ensuring accountability across teams.

  • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills to propose effective technical solutions that meet business goals.

  • Collaborate with the Senior Manager – Ecommerce and Digital to contribute to the digital roadmap, offering strategic input aligned with annual operating plan (AOP) objectives.

  • Manage and develop direct reports, fostering a culture of learning, collaboration, and performance excellence.

  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, including technical specifications, workflows, and project tracking materials.

  • Contribute to continuous process improvement and innovation within the department, leveraging technology to optimize performance.

  • Champion Disney’s culture of integrity, inclusion, and innovation, acting as an ambassador for DDI and The Walt Disney Company.

  • Promote a collaborative team environment, valuing diverse perspectives and sharing best practices.

  • Encourage and oversee the professional development of direct reports, providing regular feedback and ensuring they have the tools and resources to thrive.

  • Actively engage with other Disney business units to broaden understanding of TWDC’s operations and strategic direction.

Areas of Accountability

  • Accountable to the Technical Account Manager and Senior Manager – Ecommerce and Digital.

  • Responsible for the delivery of technology projects against agreed goals, timelines, and budgets.

  • Accountable for identifying, communicating, and resolving project risks and issues.

  • Responsible for cultivating productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders globally.

  • Accountable for the supervision, development, and performance of direct reports.

Experience and Professional Qualifications Required

  • Proven experience leading and managing technology projects, ideally within the travel or e-commerce industry.

  • Strong background in business analysis and systems integration, with hands-on experience in API-driven environments.

  • Experience working within a large, matrixed organisation and managing multiple stakeholders across regions.

  • Demonstrable experience writing clear, comprehensive technical documentation and specifications.

  • Proficiency with issue-tracking tools such as JIRA.

  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with both internal teams and external technology partners.

  • Experience supervising or managing team members, with a focus on development and performance.

Technical & Analytical Skills

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a solution-driven mindset.

  • Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively across multiple projects.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and video conferencing tools (e.g., Zoom).

  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and tools.

  • Understanding of technology within travel or e-commerce environments preferred.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor complex technical information to diverse audiences.

  • Confident presenter who can communicate ideas clearly both in person and virtually.

  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills at all organizational levels.

Leadership & Mindset

  • Proactive, collaborative, and detail-oriented approach.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop others.

  • Passion for innovation, digital transformation, and the Disney brand.

Additional Information

  • Some UK, European, or international travel may be required.

  • Flexible working hours may be necessary to meet project needs.

  • Participation in ad-hoc projects as required by the business.
