Job Summary:

The Vice President (VP), DTC Partnerships, APAC, The Walt Disney Company will report to the SVP, DTC GM, APAC.  The individual is a key member of the APAC DTC leadership team. 

The VP is responsible for advancing DTC APAC business, leading strategies and teams that drive business growth via partnerships with relevant players across APAC markets.  He/She covers partnerships across multiple verticals, including but not limited to Telcos, Utility and Pay TV operators, Device Manufacturers, Corporate benefits, Ride hailing and Food Delivery platforms, E-commerce, Music, Entertainment and News Services, Airlines, Hospitality and Automotive.

He is accountable for setting a unified regional strategy, priorities, making regional trade-offs, and advocating with product technology for the capabilities needed to succeed.

He/She will directly manage territory DTC partnership leaders, Head of Technical Account Mgmt. and co-manage Partner Marketing.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead the execution of the DTC Partnerships strategy across APAC that supports the organization’s vision and goals and long-term strategy for Disney+ APAC.
  • Identify, develop, structure and close complex partnership deals with target partner organizations that deliver value to the business
  • Define the best practice for identifying relevant partners, lead a regional team to ensure deals with prospective partners are delivered effectively, and create a robust relationship with these partners. 
  • Establish and track against clear goals, ensuring timely feedback, and addressing performance problems and issues in a prompt manner.
  • Lead a regional team of executives including head of Partnerships across APAC territories, Technical Account Mgmt. and DTC Partner marketing (co-led with Marketing). Recruit, develop, and retain a strong leadership team; provide guidance and coaching to maximize their performance and accelerate their professional growth.
  • Grow the Disney+ brand and maximize its consumer reach through different platforms
  • Partner with Territory MD’s to meet business plan targets and support wider business objectives
  • Foster close collaboration with local, regional (APAC), global stakeholders. 
  • Execute all corporate policies/objectives while maintaining the highest level of ethics and industry standards.
  • Establish and maintain an innovative and highly collaborative culture that promotes idea generation, open communication, respect for others and excellence.\
  • Create an inclusive, collaborative, fun and stimulating work environment.
  • Ability to work with cross functional leaders, mainly Product & Tech, Content, Marketing; and collaborate with other parts of the Walt Disney company worldwide to advance APAC DTC business.

Basic Qualifications Required:

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in business development and partnerships. Experience in a technology or media company preferred.
  • Proven highly strategic Partnerships leader in D2C businesses. Excellent record of achievement with proven experience as a Partnerships leader in APAC with deep understanding of the various markets, and strong external APAC network in media and entertainment.
  • Significant senior leadership experience, managing leaders of leaders, that has a participative approach that fosters collaboration and innovation.  Extensive experience leading a diverse group of multi-functions in a large organization across a matrix environment.
  • Ability to recognize, create and communicate priorities, strategies, market opportunities and challenges to drive growth and performance improvement.
  • Skilled in navigating high-stakes negotiations that result in significant value creation. Experience in drafting, negotiating, and closing term sheets and contracts.
  • Balance of strategic and operational skills. 
  • Ability to effectively lead and manage in a dynamic and challenging environment.
  • Phenomenal communication skills and articulation ability, with a proven ability in engaging effectively with business partners and diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent people skills, with an ability to partner with a dynamic leadership team.
  • Adaptable and able to multi-task; can work within an ambiguous, fast-moving work environment while also driving toward clarity and solutions.
  • Must demonstrate and maintain integrity, credibility, be a sensible risk-taker, practice proactive leadership, accountable, adaptable, be a forward-thinker, and have a strategic and agile mindset.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Multi-national company experience and have worked in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Deep APAC experience especially in partnering with senior business leaders in the APAC market
  • Willingness to extensively travel for partner and internal team meetings as needed.
  • Track record of consistently hitting / over delivering targets
  • Fluent in English; Japanese or Korean a plus
