The Walt Disney Company (TWDC) has a diverse global portfolio of companies spanning movies, television, news, sports, games, theme parks, resorts, and more. Disney's Direct-To-Consumer (DTC) business unit, part of TWDC's Disney Entertainment segment, oversees all facets of Disney's Film and TV Streaming, including Hulu and Disney+.

What You Will Do:

As an Associate Program Manager in the Business Operations Launch Program Management team, you will drive strategic initiatives across divisions by creating clarity out of chaos. You will leverage your attention to detail, multitasking ability, and critical thinking to manage complex projects, foster stakeholder relationships, and communicate effectively with leaders at all levels.

You will manage a diverse portfolio of work, including Monetization and Subscriber Growth, Content, Marketing, Data, and Legal programs. Committed to the principle of "just enough" process rigor, you will ensure transparency in program progress, risks, and dependencies.

You will collaborate closely with the Disney Entertainment group, including teams across Product + Technology, Content, Marketing, and various international business units. Under the guidance of LPMO program leaders, you will coordinate the delivery of work segments across multiple functional workstreams, divisions, and launch initiatives.

  

                                                                 

Responsibilities:

  •  Project Planning: Assist in developing detailed project plans that define scope, timelines, resource allocation, and success criteria to ensure clear and achievable objectives.

  • Communication: Support the implementation of communication, monitoring, and control strategies to facilitate timely updates on project status, risks, and issues to business stakeholders.

  • Launch Operations: Contribute to launch management for new product features and global expansion efforts, including coordinating localization, creative assets, advertising operations, content programming and legal reviews.

  •  Risk Management: Identify operational risks, issues, dependencies, and key decision points; escalate concerns promptly to ensure proactive mitigation.

  • Stakeholder Management: Establish and maintain effective communication channels to manage stakeholder expectations, align priorities, and foster strong collaborative relationships across teams.

  • Teamwork: Promote a collaborative team environment by influencing colleagues, supporting teamwork, and motivating cross-functional groups to achieve shared goals.

Qualifications:     

  • Minimum of 3 years in program and project management within a large corporate, direct-to-consumer streaming business, or consulting firm.

  • Program Management: Solid understanding of program management frameworks, governance, and tracking methodologies. PMP certification is helpful but not required.

  • Collaboration: Proven track record collaborating effectively across highly matrixed, cross-functional teams to build strong partnerships and drive shared success. Skilled at managing competing priorities and stakeholders and working as a team.

  • Adaptability: Demonstrates resilience, tenacity, a positive mindset and ease working in ambiguous or dynamic situations.

  • Software Literacy: Basic proficiency and understanding of the software development lifecycle.

  •  Global Experience: International experience preferred, demonstrating cultural awareness and adaptability in diverse markets.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with AI tools, Airtable, PowerPoint, Google Slides, Miro, Lucidchart, Confluence, Jira, Airtable, and Smartsheet to support effective project delivery.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Consulting Experience: Prior experience in consulting with software products, marketing, content, legal, or media operations is a plus.

  • Certifications: One or more recognized current project management certifications (IAMP, PMP, MPM, CSM, etc.).

  • Process Improvement: Experience driving business process enhancements for increased efficiency and effectiveness.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, another business/tech field, or equivalent work experience.


The hiring range for this position in New York, NY is $112,000.00 to $150,100.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
