Custodial Trash Truck - Part Time, Walt Disney World
Job Summary:
Join the team at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, where you'll help maintain the cleanliness and appearance of one of our most unique, nature-filled resort locations. In the Custodial Trash Truck role, you will operate a trash collection vehicle and perform the physical work of manually lifting and loading trash bags into the back of the truck. Candidates must possess a valid Florida driver's license and a CDL Class A or B certification. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, are comfortable in a natural environment with local wildlife, and take pride in helping create a clean and welcoming experience for our Guests and Cast Members every day.
Working Part-Time requires full availability for any shift, any (3) days per week, including nights and holidays. Part-Time Cast Members will work between 0 hour to 24 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
- Manually lifting bags of trash into the back of the trash truck
- Work in outdoor settings during various weather conditions
- Must enjoy driving during the day and at night with limited visibility
- Repetitive heavy lifting throughout the day
- Will navigate throughout Fort Wilderness as well as to and from the Dump
- Learning process of Dump operation
- Must have the ability to work with various harsh cleaning chemicals and supplies
- Comfortable working around wildlife and nature
- Communicate using a radio and/or cellular phone
- Learn to use HotSOS application for task communication
Basic Qualifications:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Must hold a valid Florida Driver’s License with CDL class A or B certification to drive the trash truck. No permits.
- Effective communication skills (including written and spoken English, and people skills) to positively talk with Guests, Cast Members, and leadership
- Complete tasks with use of equipment, tools or systems related to performance of assigned responsibilities
- Be able to comprehend chemical labels in English
- Physical role requiring heavy lifting, walking, pushing, pulling, bending twisting, repetitive movements, and kneeling
- Work in outdoor settings during various weather conditions
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred work experience in any of the following areas:
- Custodial or Environmental Services
- Waste Collection or Trash Removal
- Sanitation Services
- Groundskeeping or Landscaping
- Resort, Campground, or Outdoor Property Maintenance
- Public Works or Municipal Sanitation
- Warehouse, Distribution, or General Labor positions involving repetitive lifting
- CDL Driving roles, especially those involving route-based work
- Construction labor or outdoor labor-intensive positions

SCHEDULE AVAILABILTY Our Theme Parks and Resort Hotels operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and some shifts may start as early as 5:00am while some may end as late as 3:00am, 4:00am or 5:00am. Please note that the principles of seniority are used to schedule all roles.
