Job Summary:

We are seeking an Attorney to join our Australia & New Zealand Legal team on a full-time contract basis. Reporting to the Lead Counsel, Australia & New Zealand, this role will provide expert, commercially focused legal support across Disney’s diverse ANZ business, including Disney+, content sales and distribution, studio marketing and franchise activity.


About the Role

In this role, you will support the ANZ Legal team in delivering high-quality legal advice that enables Disney’s business units to achieve their strategic and operational goals. You will work closely with legal colleagues and business stakeholders across marketing, content, product, finance and commercial teams. This is a 13-month contract.

Key responsibilities will include:


•    Providing legal review and clearance for Disney+ marketing, social, digital, radio and eDM assets across growth, lifecycle and performance marketing campaigns.
•    Supporting legal advice on Disney+ product and platform changes, including on-platform copy review, partner co-promotions and related approvals.
•    Drafting and reviewing commercial agreements, including influencer agreements, services agreements, agency agreements, briefs, statements of work, sponsorship agreements and partnership documentation.
•    Advising on competitions and trade promotions, including reviewing and drafting terms and conditions, prize fulfilment agreements, release forms and permit requirements.
•    Supporting content sales and distribution matters, including drafting and negotiating licence agreements for Disney film and television content across pay TV, free TV and streaming partners.
•    Preparing NDAs, amendments, agreement extensions, legal research notes, memos, presentations and training materials.
•    Assisting with the maintenance of Disney internal legal processes, policies and documentation.

About You

You will be a qualified lawyer with strong technical legal skills, excellent attention to detail and a practical, commercial approach. You will be comfortable managing multiple priorities, working with diverse stakeholders and providing clear advice in a fast-paced media and entertainment environment.

You will ideally bring:


•    A Bachelor of Laws or equivalent legal qualification.
•    Approximately 3–5 years’ post-qualification experience, preferably from a top-tier law firm.
•    Experience licensing intellectual property rights and advising on consumer law.
•    Strong drafting, negotiation, legal research and communication skills.
•    Experience in media, entertainment, FMCG or another brand/IP-led business, highly regarded.
•    In-house legal experience in media or entertainment, desirable but not essential.
•    Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
•    A collaborative, curious and adaptable mindset.
•    A genuine interest in content, entertainment and the media industry.
