Coordinator, Platform Distribution Sales

The Platform Distribution team is seeking a Coordinator, Platform Distribution Sales, who will be an outstanding addition to our team.  Our Platform Distribution Sales team is responsible for distribution of content for the best brands in the business including Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN working with leading media companies like Amazon, Microsoft, DirecTV, LG, and many more. Be a part of the team that negotiates complex distribution agreements for Disney’s linear networks, direct-to-consumer products, TV everywhere applications, video on-demand services, and airline inflight entertainment licensing.

The Sales Coordinator will play a supporting role in projects that help shape Disney Platform Distribution’s long-term strategy and assist with the team’s operational and administrative tasks. The right person for this role has proven organization, communication and analytical skills and is an individual that can grow to manage various responsibilities of content distribution and audience growth partnerships including: business development, executing partnership strategies, managing processes, understanding contractual compliance as well as successfully managing accounts with internal constituents, including Content, Marketing, Technology, Finance and Legal departments to successfully drive Disney’s content distribution priorities.  Finally, the ideal candidate looks to drive results, is solutions oriented, is easy to work with, and has a bias towards action.

Responsibilities:

  • Own client management operations (e.g., client database, hospitality) to support Sales efforts across a diverse set of platform partners.

  • Monitor industry trends and compile resources and summaries for the team.

  • Maintain resources related to key partners including deal summaries, industry overviews, and marketplace summaries informing deal strategies.

  • Run point on team meeting logistics including - collecting and compiling multi-department agenda items, taking notes and following-up on deliverables following meetings.

  • Support negotiations with key direct-to-consumer, linear, and transactional stakeholders.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders (e.g., finance, legal, marketing, operations, product) to properly support deal flow.

  • Serve as a supportive member of the team while fostering an inclusive team culture for learning and growth.  

  • Organizational tasks to support team and client management (e.g., contractual certifications, programing calendars, provide tickets) to support Sales efforts across diverse set of platform partners.

  • Put together preparation materials for upcoming account negotiations and executive meetings.

Required experience:

  • Demonstrated strength in Microsoft Office Suite - specifically Excel and PowerPoint

  • Understanding of media industry landscape, including competitors/current trends, and has a point of view on how Disney creates value for partners

  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail to assist team with account and client management

  • Proven written (clear, concise, complete communications), verbal, quantitative/modeling skills

  • Strong analytical thinker who can quickly identify and evaluate complex information break it down into component parts and make strong recommendations to the executive team

  • Ability to develop strong collaborative relationships with internal and external partners

  • Ability to manage competing priorities effectively and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Work or education experience in finance, management consulting, strategy, entrepreneurship or law 

  • Industry experience in media, technology, and/or subscription business models

  • Experience in contract review and interpretation

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s or equivalent work experience

The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $64,400 - $78,600 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
