We are responsible for the end-to-end digital and physical Guest experience for all technology & digital-led initiatives across the Attractions & Entertainment, Food & Beverage, Resorts & Transportation and Merchandise lines of business as well as other initiatives including MyDisneyExperience and Hey, Disney!

This role sits in the Disney Photo Imaging and Media Services organization within Technology & Digital for Disney Experiences. It works closely with the Photopass Business along with other Technology & Digital groups from across the company. 

About The Role & Team:

The Senior Software Engineer - Full Stack will report to the Photopass Technology Manager and work closely with the Photopass Lead Architect and multiple Lead Software Engineers.

The Senior Software Engineer on Disney’s Photo Imaging tech team combines software development and imaging science expertise to design, build, test, and deliver scalable solutions that create “Magic” for Guests. This role involves full-stack development, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and mentoring junior engineers on best practices. The engineer independently leads small to mid-sized projects, coordinates with geographically distributed teams and vendors, and partners closely with the Photopass Product and Design teams to ensure timely, high-quality delivery that meets all requirements.

What You’ll Do:

  • May lead small projects encompassing analysis, design, programming, debugging, and modification of software enhancements and/or new products used in local, networked, cloud-based, or Internet-related computer programs
  • Responsible for performing testing and debugging of applications
  • Code may be used in commercial and end-user applications or focus on software and tools supporting infrastructure and technology platforms
  • Code at the component level
  • Work typically involves large or highly sophisticated software programs and systems
  • Possess a proven understanding of current programming language and technologies, with strong skills in writing code and completing programming tasks
  • Interact with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications
  • Conceive, design, develop, test, and implement software components, fixes, improvements, and/or new systems and applications
  • Design and develop highly scalable software systems and applications
  • You will be expected to stay up to date with emerging technologies

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of related work experience
  • Comfortable working in an agile environment
  • A proactive demeanor towards continuous learning and skill development, and an interest in mastering emerging data engineering tools and methodologies
  • Builds and prototypes features using C#, Angular, and Node.js
  • Designs and implements application components
  • Develops and troubleshoots across tech stacks
  • Delivers fixes, enhancements, and new applications
  • Improves performance and scalability
  • Reviews code for alignment with specs
  • Leads issue resolution and enforces best practices
  • Coordinates with engineering teams on integrated solutions
  • Acts as a technical lead across multiple applications
  • Manages daily project activities and team assignments
  • Drives projects from design to support
  • Estimates work and supports planning
  • Leads workshops for scope and discovery
  • Oversees full project lifecycle and documentation
  • Tracks progress, manages risks, and ensures Scrum practices

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Proficient in C#, .NET Framework/Core, async programming
  • Experienced with AWS serverless (especially Lambda)
  • Familiar with WPF, Angular (v15+), JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js
  • Skilled in automation and unit testing
  • Strong grasp of cloud and serverless architectures, especially AWS
  • 5+ years in the industry and in Agile delivery
  • Experienced in managing multiple projects and working in matrixed teams
  • Background in image science (photo/video processing) is a plus
  • Proven team player with demonstrated project delivery
  • Adapts quickly in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
  • Strong troubleshooting and proactive mindset
  • Quick to learn new technologies and escalate risks appropriately
  • Excellent communicator with strong writing and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and open to feedback
  • Able to multitask and shift priorities effectively
  • Knowledge/experience in relevant technologies, including:  C#, JavaScript (ES6), TypeScript, Node.js; Angular (v15+), WPF; AWS (Lambda, S3, API Gateway, CloudFormation, SQS/SNS, Lambda Authorizers); AWS Serverless Architecture, Fargate, Kubernetes, Docker; HashiCorp Vault; Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code; MariaDB, RDS Proxy, SQL, JSON Messaging; HTML5, CSS3, LESS/SASS; Web Accessibility, Polymer Web Components; Web Services (SOAP & REST), Express; Adobe After Effects, Video Rendering; Async Programming, Task Automation

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience
