The Walt Disney Imagineering Executive Communications Specialist supports a variety of needs on the Walt Disney Imagineering Communications team, with a focus on executive communications. This role requires a proactive problem solver with excellent writing skills, strong communication capabilities, and eye for attention to detail.

What You Will Do:

The Walt Disney Imagineering Executive Communications Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Development of communication strategies and executive communication briefs
  • Support of executive speaking engagements, writing for internal and external events
  • Helping proof and distribute internal/executive communications
  • Distributing emails and other communications from senior Imagineering leaders
  • Coordinating with graphic designers or video production teams to develop communication assets
  • Serving as primary facilitator between Imagineering and other production support (e.g. AV teams) or content development teams
  • Triaging asset and other approvals with HR, legal, and brand teams and keeping communications assets and documents organized and updated in shared folders
  • Tracking communication projects, milestones, and schedules to ensure action items are on track and completed while helping ensure alignment and integration across the Communications team
  • Managing day-to-day communications calendar, and working with other teammates to ensure we're capturing emerging information while looping in partners
  • Gathering metrics to measure communication effectiveness and developing and distributing regular reports
  • Developing event recaps and holding after-action reviews to ensure continuous improvement
  • Maintaining professionalism, executive presence, a positive attitude, and a can-do spirit
  • Being willing to assist with other duties to support the broader Walt Disney Imagineering communications as needed

Required Qualifications & Skills:

2+ years of experience in communications or corporate events and:

  • Writing and Oral Communications: Excellent written and verbal interpersonal and communications skills crucial to effective interaction with all levels of the organization including senior-level executives and their assistants. Key competency in spelling, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Attention to detail: Exhibits the superior organization skills necessary to assist in coordinating all forms of communication (internal and external) for timely delivery of replies and processing information requests.
  • Collaboration: Develop and maintain positive relationships within the team and with key stakeholders.
  • Organization and Planning: Prioritizing workflow and keeping track of all details for multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proactive Problem Solving: Ability to apply creative thinking to identify and solve potential problems effectively and efficiently.
  • Professionalism, Executive Presence, and Service-minded: Strong sense of guest service to all clients, including internal and external partners. Ability to interface professionally with senior leaders across Imagineering and Disney Experiences.
  • Multi-tasking: Ability to handle multiple projects at once, prioritize, and ensure all deadlines are met.
  • Clerical: Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, transcription and other office procedures and terminology, phone, calendar maintenance, filing, etc. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; and SAP. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, Acrobat) is a plus.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism or equivalent work experience.

The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $78,200 to $104,800 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
