Ad Platforms is responsible for Disney’s industry-leading ad technology and products – driving advertising performance, innovation, and value in Disney’s sports, news, and entertainment content, across all media platforms.

As a Manager, Product Management within the Ad Platform technology team at DE&ET, you will be a part of the team defining Addressable advertising. You will lead a team of high-performing product managers overseeing a key product domain. You will also be responsible for the product strategy, business, and functional requirements consumable for engineering, and driving execution to establish the platform's future. The right person for this role can identify business value, solve complex problems, concisely articulate solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders and ultimately drive results. Within the Ad Platform tech team, the Audience Data and Measurement team is responsible for first-party and third-party products that verify ad delivery and ad effectiveness; for delivering personalized ads to viewers based on behavior, demographics or detailed viewing context; and for defining strategies and data flows that link internal and external outcomes to ad exposures on our platforms, and drive insights that generate lift for the outcomes that matter to our advertising business. 

Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:  

  • Establish product strategy for Audience Data, identifying, evaluating and executing against the strategic roadmap to maximize value.
  • Drive alignment with partners in Disney Ad Sales, Content Platforms, Identity, and Ad Product in maintaining a common vision and shared strategy to realize data capabilities.
  • Drive business results leveraging data, including the expansion of measurement and targeting capabilities to new territories and platforms, domestically and internationally.
  • Lead initiatives championing the use of Disney’s first-party data to expand reach, increase match rates, and lift measurements.
  • Continue to enhance and expand Disney’s industry-leading contextual products, building new applications for rich content metadata.
  • Evaluate, select and integrate internal and external data sources that measure the effectiveness of Disney Advertising in driving outcomes.
  • Provide data solutions that realize outcome-based advertising for all of our demand platforms.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering teams in Data and BI to enrich insights about the complexion of our advertising supply.
  • Oversee the implementation of third-party metrics that support advertising monetization, billing and reporting.
  • Lead data sharing efforts to securely share data with internal and external partners.
  • Drive commercialization inputs for product launches and partner with GTM teams and analytics teams to define and instrument clear success metrics
  • Lead OKR and KPI definition for the Advertising Data Platform product team ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Evaluate and recommend investments to maximize impact of the product portfolio, inclusive of staffing, partnership and data needs
  • Manage and motivate product managers, establishing clear standards across the team for product specifications, backlog health, and consumable requirements for engineering partners
  • Partner with Engineering to be able to architect and establish the effective and timely delivery of innovation


Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training: 
Basic Qualifications  

  • 8+ years of product management experience, highly preferred from established technology or digital media company
  • 3+ years of experience leading a team of data product managers preferred
  • Strong technical and domain expertise of data platforms including expertise with SQL and various data lake/warehouse solutions such as Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Oracle
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study.


The hiring range for this position in Los Angeles, CA is $167,700.00 to $224,900.00 per year, in New York, NY and Seattle, WA is $175,800 to $235,700 per year, and in San Francisco, CA is $183,700 to $246,400 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
