Job Summary:

About the Role & Team

Disney Digital Entertainment, a division of Disney Experiences, is redefining how audiences interact with The Walt Disney Company—creating the ‘digital front door’ that unites all of Disney’s magic into a cohesive, interactive universe.

Disney Digital Entertainment is seeking talented individuals passionate about pushing the boundaries of game engine and rendering technology. As a critical part of our team, you will leverage your expertise to build and optimize feature-rich engines, ensuring smooth and high-performance experiences for global audiences.

As a Senior Tools Engineer you will design intuitive tools that empower artists and designers without requiring engineering support, collaborate with teams across games, animation, and interactive experiences to build robust pipelines. You will enable efficient content sharing between real-time and offline rendering pipelines (e.g., Unreal and USD), and own core components of the asset pipeline, from ingestion to deployment.

This role can be based remotely in Sweden, Denmark, Finland or Norway.

What You Will Do

  • Build, integrate and support tools within Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN).

  • Develop systems to validate and optimize assets for multiple platforms.

  • Solve complex problems that intersect tech art, tooling, and engine infrastructure.

  • Collaborate with engineers, artists and designers across Disney divisions.

  • Participate in strategic project planning and help meet team goals.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Strong background in C++, C# or Python for tool/pipeline development.

  • Experience with Unreal Engine tooling.

  • Familiarity with DCC tools (e.g., Maya, Houdini, Blender) and their scripting APIs.

  • Familiarity with cloud-based asset pipelines or distributed workflows.

  • User-Focused – Builds tools with empathy for artists, designers, and content creators.

  • Committed to maintainability, performance, and clean architecture in tools and pipelines.

  • Strong problem-solving and mentoring abilities.
