Job Summary:

We’re looking for a dynamic and strategic Music Marketing Manager to lead Disney’s music initiatives in Korea, helping bring the magic of Disney’s Studio and Disney+ content to life through music. In this role, you’ll oversee the planning and execution of integrated campaigns for local and global releases, working closely with partners such as Disney Music Group (DMG), Universal Music Group (UMG), and regional creative teams.

You’ll act as a key point of connection between global stakeholders and the Korean market, ensuring that every release resonates deeply with local audiences—while upholding Disney’s high standards. This role blends creativity, cross-functional coordination, and cultural fluency, and plays a critical part in shaping how our music is received, promoted, and celebrated across Korea.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of localized marketing strategies for Disney’s music content in Korea, ensuring campaigns are innovative, audience-driven, and aligned with global priorities.
  • Own and manage end-to-end campaigns—from creative planning to launch—across soundtracks, catalog releases, and Korean local productions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (content, legal, brand, digital, integrated marketing) and external partners to ensure smooth music and video release processes.
  • Oversee the collection of legal documentation from Korean songwriters and manage cue sheet creation and delivery for KOMCA and Soundmouse.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key partners such as KOMCA, UMGK, UMPK, and local production companies to resolve rights, publishing, or campaign-related issues.
  • Serve as the local lead for Disney Concerts-related initiatives, collaborating with presenters and media to amplify reach and drive audience engagement.
  • Provide onboarding and guidance to music directors and production companies to ensure creative and legal alignment with Disney’s standards.
  • Inspire licensees and partners with new campaign ideas, even outside of active launches, and act as a strategic thought partner across meetings and planning sessions.
  • Create clear, insightful weekly reports for regional and global teams, highlighting performance, audience insights, and growth opportunities.
  • Partner with digital marketing and social media teams to craft campaigns that resonate across platforms, tapping into both mainstream channels and emerging trends.
  • Track campaign performance using analytics tools and surface actionable insights to refine strategy and optimize impact.
  • Support administrative and publishing processes when needed, ensuring all music-related documentation and reporting is accurate and timely.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking someone who blends creativity with operational excellence. You should be highly organized, detail-oriented, and confident managing multiple high-visibility projects at once. You know the local music landscape well and can move seamlessly between creative brainstorming, stakeholder management, and rights or data-based decision-making. While you may not manage a team directly, you’re a natural leader in how you collaborate, communicate, and drive alignment across diverse teams.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in music marketing, entertainment, digital media, or a related field.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional campaigns from concept through execution and analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of the Korean music industry, including local licensing, publishing, and concert promotion practices.
  • Fluent in Korean and English, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Digitally savvy, with hands-on experience using analytics and campaign management tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative tools (Photoshop, After Effects, InDesign), Keynote/PowerPoint, and project management tools like Airtable.
  • A passion for music and an instinct for what captures audiences in a rapidly changing content environment.

Why This Role Matters

This role plays a key part in bridging Disney’s global music strategy with the cultural pulse of the Korean market. You’ll help shape how Disney music is discovered and experienced by fans—from streaming playlists to live concert halls—and leave a lasting mark on how stories are told through sound.
