Job Summary:

Disney’s Direct-to-Consumer Product & Tech Analytics team is seeking a Lead Data Analyst to join the Analytics Experimentation Center of Excellence (COE). Scale the product and technological development of streaming services under the Disney brand by collaborating with Product, Programming, Design, Advertising, Commerce & Growth, and many key organizations to measure performance through experimentation.

The COE partners across the business to turn data into information, information into insights and insights into key business decisions that steer the strategic direction of the company. WHAT YOU'LL DO 

  • Advance the capabilities of the business with high-impact statistical analysis and data visualizations, collaborate in the design of diagnostic solutions, and deliver outstanding insights and products to drive business strategy across partner teams 

  • Build, own, and scale multi-functional reporting that provides critical support to the operations and decision-making of the organization through experimentation – including self-service analytics, tracking key initiatives, and measuring program performance 

  • Lead process improvements and monitor project milestones in our A/B experimentation platforms, serving varied stakeholders and analysts across Disney+ and Hulu 

  • Provide analytics expertise to key business partners through newly developed training programs or ad hoc office hours & questions, communicating statistical insights to domain experts and executives 

  • Align experimentation learnings across teams to propel testing velocity and skill development, maintaining a knowledge repository for seasoned and new analysts 

  • Support the analysis and recommendations of A/B and multivariate experiments on Disney+ and Hulu by collecting data, analyzing results, and reporting findings 

Minimum Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Analytics, Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, etc. or equivalent work experience

  • 7+ years of experience as an analyst with excellent skills in complex querying, advanced analysis, performance optimization, and working with data at scale

  • 5+ years hands-on expertise working with SQL, and python computational and visualization libraries like pandas, numpy, statsmodels, scikit-learn etc.

  • Advanced data modeling and visualization skills with Tableau

  • Thorough understanding of statistical methods and topics, such as hypothesis testing, power functions, type I & II errors, central limit theorem, t-tests, regression analysis 

  • Strong experience delivering end-to-end analytics projects: taking them from vague requirements to an impactful business outcome, accessible across diverse audiences 

  • Ability to build working relationships with teammates, business partners, and technical colleagues; Excited about learning and coaching skill development in others 

  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills delivering compelling narratives with strong presentation skills 

  • Ability to work independently; excel at juggling multiple projects, defining prioritization frameworks, and managing timelines and dependencies 

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Master's degree in Economics, Statistics, Analytics, Computer Science, MIS, Data Engineering, etc. or related field 

  • Ability to identify and appropriately call out issues to leadership 

  • Experience leading a team or onboarding new team members 

  • Consulting background, MBA, or other multi-industry experience 

  • Sense of humor and unique passions or areas of interest that influence the way you interact with others and/or do your job

The hiring range for this position in Los Angeles is $138,900 - $186,200 per year and in New York is $145,400 - $195,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
