Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic Associate Producer to join our Sports Marketing & Content Production team. This role is perfect for a creative storyteller with a passion for sports who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The Associate Producer will support the development and execution of multi-platform content initiatives while contributing fresh perspectives to our award-winning creative output.

There are 2 Associate Producer positions available. One will be NYC based and the other will be Bristol, CT based.

Key Responsibilities:

Content Development & Production

  • Collaborate with senior producers and creative directors on concept development for sports marketing campaigns and branded content
  • Research and identify compelling sports stories, trending topics, and cultural moments that align with ESPN's brand strategy
  • Assist in pre-production planning including sourcing footage, talent coordination, location scouting, equipment needs, and shoot schedules
  • Support on-set production activities, ensuring smooth execution of creative vision
  • Coordinate with post-production teams to deliver high-quality content on deadline
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and creative standards

Sports Expertise & Content Strategy

  • Stay current on sports news, trends, and cultural conversations across all major leagues and emerging sports properties
  • Contribute to editorial calendar planning and content ideation sessions
  • Develop deep understanding of diverse sports audiences and their content consumption habits
  • Support social media content creation and optimization strategies

Project Management & Collaboration

  • Work closely with account management, creative, and production teams to ensure seamless project delivery
  • Coordinate with external vendors, talent agencies, and sports organizations
  • Maintain organized project files, timelines, and budget tracking
  • Participate in client presentations and creative reviews
  • Support new business development through research and pitch preparation

Innovation & Growth

  • Explore emerging platforms, technologies, and content formats to keep ESPN at the forefront of sports media
  • Contribute to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within content creation
  • Mentor junior team members and interns
  • Represent ESPN Creative Studio at industry events and conferences

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in content production, sports marketing, or media production
  • Demonstrated portfolio of creative work (video, digital content, or campaign development)
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Experience with content management systems and project management tools
  • Understanding of social media platforms and digital content optimization
  • Knowledge of broadcast production workflows and post-production processes
  • Sports Passion: Genuine enthusiasm for sports with broad knowledge across multiple leagues, teams, and athletes
  • Creative Vision: Ability to translate strategic objectives into compelling visual and narrative content
  • Communication Excellence: Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to present ideas clearly
  • Collaborative Spirit: Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
  • Adaptability: Comfort with ambiguity and ability to pivot quickly in dynamic environment
  • Detail Orientation: Meticulous approach to project management and quality control

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with live sports production or event coverage
  • Knowledge of sports betting, fantasy sports, or emerging sports categories
  • Experience with influencer partnerships and talent management
  • Understanding of brand partnerships and integrated marketing
  • Previous agency or in-house creative team experience

Required Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Film/TV Production, or related field

The hiring range for this position in New York, NY is $67,500.00 to $90,400.00 per year based on a 40-hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
