Team Description:

The Security Research and Testing (SRT) team specializes in simulating real-world cyberattacks to uncover vulnerabilities and evaluate the effectiveness of Disney Experiences (DX) and Disney Corporate (Corp) technology systems' security measures. By mimicking tactics used by malicious actors, the SRT team provides critical insights into potential weaknesses. They work closely with both technology and business teams across DX, Corporate and Enterprise technology teams to analyze findings, strengthen security policies, and recommend targeted improvements to address gaps in infrastructure, processes, and training, ensuring a robust and resilient security posture.

What You Will Do:

As a Senior Security Engineer within the Security Research and Testing (SRT) team, you will apply cybersecurity testing expertise to proactively identify, assess, and report vulnerabilities across a broad spectrum of technologies and environments. This includes high-visibility systems and assets within Disney Experiences (DX), such as cruise ships, theme park attractions, resorts, commerce platforms, and supporting infrastructure, as well as Corporate backend systems.

This is a hands-on technical role focused on execution. It requires strong adversarial testing capabilities, situational awareness, and the ability to work collaboratively on complex testing engagements that support critical guest and operational systems.

Responsibilities of Role:

We are hiring!  We need a Senior Security Engineer – Security Assurance to join our Disney Experience (DX) Security Research & Testing (SRT) Team!

You will focus on performing advanced cyber security testing and developing and executing advanced cybersecurity testing strategies to safeguard DX’s digital ecosystems.  This includes safe-guarding and testing computer systems, networks, and applications, against malicious threats. You will also be responsible for identifying vulnerabilities in existing systems, recommending solutions, and driving the implementation of robust security measures. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conduct hands-on testing to identify exploitable weaknesses, guiding application and system owners in implementing security controls, and effectively communicating findings to stakeholders.

  • Collaborate closely with developers, system administrators, and other security teams to remediate vulnerabilities and strengthen the overall security posture. 

  • Core Testing: Perform advanced cybersecurity testing, including penetration testing, and adversarial simulations, across Disney Experience technology ecosystems. 

  • Identify, exploit, and document vulnerabilities in applications, networks, APIs, and infrastructure. 

  • Develop proof-of-concept attacks to demonstrate risks and educate stakeholders. 

Must Have:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the field of Red Team Testing, Penetration Testing, Cyber Adversarial Simulations/Testing or another like field. 

  • Solid Understanding of security and network concepts 

  • Ability to identify risk and develop appropriate mitigation plans to reduce or eliminate risk. 

  • Understanding of adversarial techniques, signals/IOC’s generated and containment/mitigation paths. 

  • Ability to establish credibility and working relationships with a wide range of personnel, including operations, management and legal staff.  

  • Understanding of network and IT security components, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, anti-malware software, data encryption, VPN’s, vulnerability scanners, server operating systems, and other industry-standard techniques and practices. 

  • Experience with both commercial and open-source security testing tools. 

  • Must be open to a flexible work schedule: standard and non-standard hours, as well as domestic and international travel.

Nice To Have:

  • Experience with cloud (Azure, GCP, AWS) security concepts. 

  • Experience with identifying and running new application proof of concept projects. 

  • Demonstrated strong organizational and time management skills. 

  • TCM or OffSec security certifications.

  • Assist in testing AI-powered systems, including LLMs and ML-based applications, focusing on security, privacy, and integrity controls.

  • Research emerging AI threats and support development of testing approaches against evolving attack techniques

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience
