About ILS

The Walt Disney Company is committed to the promotion and maintenance of responsible international labor practices in its licensing and direct sourcing operations throughout the world. The company's International Labor Standards (ILS) Program is an important component of The Walt Disney Company's Corporate Social Responsibility and Responsible Supply Chain efforts.

Disney’s ILS Program evaluates and helps improve working conditions in facilities producing Disney-branded products. We work with our licensees and vendors to educate them about labor rights expectations and require social compliance audits to assess labor conditions with the aim to foster safe, inclusive and respectful workplaces wherever Disney-branded items are produced.

The Global ILS department operates across 10 countries, structured into four functions – Regional Management, Global Audit Operations, and Strategic Development.

This is a regional training role within the APAC Regional Management team.

About the Role

The Senior Advisor is responsible for developing and deploying training and advisory program for manufacturing facilities in the region (mainly Thailand and Vietnam) to increase facilities’ compliance performance with Disney ILS program requirements.

On a daily basis, this role facilitates training and supports the implementation of training tools and initiatives. This includes communicating ILS program expectations and promoting effective practices to facilities regarding Disney’s Supply Chain Code of Conduct and ILS program requirements. Working closely with ILS Leadership and other internal stakeholders, this role also supports as appropriate in the collaboration with external stakeholders to leverage applicable external programs, initiatives, tools, and resources.

This role requires experience of engagement with business units, licensees/vendors, facility management and workers. It demands excellent interpersonal, presentation, training, and facilitation skills, strong analytical and problem solving abilities, and the capacity to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to execute training programs that drive continuous improvement of facilities’ compliance with ILS Program requirements.

This is a regional role and the candidate should be comfortable working with and supporting global teams.

Responsibilities:

ILS Program Training – Development and Delivery

  • Develop strategy for scaling and regionalizing training to be delivered to licensees/vendors, and facilities
  • Create engaging content and materials to local context through training needs assessment and deliver the training using various tools
  • Train facilities on ILS Program requirements, remediation guidance, and effective practices for continuous improvement
  • Maintain training data, prepare trend analysis and status report
  • Support the broader ILS global training, remediation advisory work and capacity building program as needed and directed

ILS Program Training – Global Alignment and Enhancement

  • Collaborate with global and regional Training and Advisory counterparts to ensure global training alignment and platforms
  • Monitor program impact in the region on a continual basis and provide feedback to adjust metrics

Collaboration

  • Socialize and engage with internal business units and external licensees/vendors on training related matters
  • Collaborate and liaise with other internal stakeholders as needed, including Legal, Global Public Policy, and etc.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders to leverage applicable external programs, initiatives, tools, and resources
  • Support broader ILS team projects as needed, e.g., ad hoc presentations, translations, and reporting

Requirements:

  • 6 years’ experience in a corporate setting, in social compliance, social auditing, responsible sourcing, corporate responsibility, or related field; and at least 3 years’ practical experience in delivering supplier training to a wide audience
  • Experience in an international team and comfortable working in a regional and global team
  • Experience and knowledge in using technologies or AI prompts to generate engaging and effective training videos and scripts
  • Experience in project management and engagement with business units and suppliers
  • Direct experience in remediation activities or advisory related work in a factory setting preferred
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Thai and English required, and Vietnamese preferred.
  • Strong training facilitation skills
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills – ability to build rapport and comfortably interact with individuals at all levels
  • Good organizational/prioritization skills and attention to details
  • Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as a part of a team
  • Proficiency in databases and Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, PowerBI), and LMS (learning management system) valuable

Preferred Qualification:

  • Practical experience in facilitating training to a wide audience (internal and external) in the following domains highly desirable:
    • Occupational Safety & Health
    • Rights and Responsibilities in the Workplace
    • Harassment, Assault, and Violence Prevention
    • Forced Labor and Ethical Recruitment
  • Firsthand experience implementing industry well-known supplier training programs (e.g., RISE, Better Work Academy, Responsible Labor Initiative (RLI), etc.)

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or above in social compliance, business, sustainability, law, communications, or related field
